She was a television host during the late 1970s, on a show where she talked about fashion and gave sewing tips. Kerstin had a significant impact on teen fashion because she both worked as a model (in the late 1940s, often with Gunilla Pontén) and was one of the first to design clothing for young adults in Sweden - at Wahls and Martinette. Kerstin also wrote a column for fashion interested teens in the Aller's family magazine. Kerstin has written many books about dressmaking; one of the most popular ones being Förklädesboken ("The Book of Aprons", 1981)- she loved aprons for being both practical and decorative. Enkla kläder (1972) and Nya enkla kläder (1975) are two books that were very popular in Europe and Japan.
